Zahin's School Progress

Assalamualaikum

At the beginning, it's very hard for Zahin to embrace the new school orientation and environment.
It's totally different from her previous school. So we think she definitely takes time to adapt herself.

Even until now it is still challenging to wake her up. 6am is considered too early for her. before this she used to get up at 7.30am since school time in the UK only starts at 9am and ends at 3pm.

Here everybody must bring books and their own stationery to school everyday. Many books that makes heavy school bag! Poor Zahin on this issue as she had never been in the situation before. so the first week she complained ache all over her body.

Also she has alot of homeworks everyday! Huhu kt UK homework hanya seminggu sekali and itupon on the paper sheets only..:D

So The first two weeks she cried and said how she missed her school in London. It's sad to see..but we cannot do anything..sigh.

But as time goes by, i hear no more cries and complaints. She is very committed and efficient doing all her homeworks.

Now she could read Jawi writing better. She does her Pendidikan Agama homeworks without my supervision. I was surprised but deep down in my heart i am so greatful and proud of her.

Alhamdulillah she seems to catch Jawi quickly. and She also even scored 92 for Pendidikan Agama in Ujian Selaras 1. fyi Pendidikan Agama are among the killer subjects for her.

Anyhow she's still struggling with Bahasa Malaysia and Arabic language. Yes she can speak BM and in fact she speaks in BM alot these days. Tapi Bahasa pasar la, kan. Hee.

it is just that she still does not grasp and familiar yet with the whole subjects. she always get confused on 'Perkataan seerti and perkataan berlawanan'. Also has trouble in Bina ayat. Huhu same goes to Arabic. we need to find an arabic-BM dictionary for her in shaa Allah..

All this while in the UK English has been her first language and as we know English sentence is more simple and straight-forward compared to BM. So surely it's quite challenging for her to do in BM. but we told her it's not a day process to master both language. She needs to work harder and practise.

One more thing, there is no such test or examination in the primary school in the UK like we do have here. But on the other hand, Zahin already took her first test in March and the PKSR examination has just started today until Friday.

Luckily we decided not to register her yet to the religious school this year. We were afraid that it could be a burden and culture shock for her. Let her just take in what she already has on her plate slowly first. :)

Last but not least, we really pray that Zahin will do her very best in the PKSR examination. At least she has an improvement and gets better marks than the previous test. May Allah always bless her.

Happy Birthday Zahin!

Assalamualaikum

Alhamdulillah, today is along Zahin's big day. She turns 8 years old already..what a big girl! ^_^ Since mommy and babah had things come up today, we didn't go celebrate. After all it's on a weekday and along Zahin has to go to school.

Talking about school, yes along Zahin already got a place at a new school, Mayville Primary School.  ;) Alhamdulillah again. She just started last monday. I wish you have a lovely time though it might only be until November.

Anyway, when mommy asked whether she want to celebrate her birthday with her new friends or not, she quickly say no and said she didn't want to tell it's her birthday today. But mommy knows actually she's still shy. Hihi.

Along Zahin was in her new uniform on her first day at Mayville Primary School. Angah amik aura dulu ye..:D

Along Zahin and adik Zafri at the playground just nearby the school. Along Zahin good at consoling her baby brother now..hopefully, she will be a good sister forever..amin!

Actually, we've already celebrated along Zahin's birthday as earlier as last saturday..hihi. Coincidently, a friend also wanted to celebrate her daughter's birthday as well..so we joined together..so it's a double celebration.. Yeay! ^_^

Since it was kinda adhoc for us, we just went to Cake Box to buy a birthday cake. That means we didn't get a chance to customized the cake. 

But luckily, there was a Frozen cake left and after gave some thinking i decided to buy it anyway..because the lil sister, Iris really insisted to buy the Frozen cake for her big sister's birthday..she almost made a scene at the cake shop..haih sabo je la hihi..

The birthday girls, Zahin and Nuha. Nuha turned 4 years old last saturday. Happy birthday you two! May Allah bless you always! amin..:)

Tadaaaa, Elsa and Anna Frozen cake. Not only it's 'Frozen' but it was yummilicious!! Credit to angah Iris, thank you dear, such a nice and sweet sister you are..as you wanted to give the best for your Along. :))

As a die hard fan of My Little Pony, along Zahin just asked for this for her birthday gift. RAINBOW DASH!! hihi along, along...you already had the smaller one before.  How i wished you should have asked something else you know but anyway, it's your birthday, so you can pick anything that you wish. ;)

As always, Mommy, Babah, Angah and Adik love you so much, along Zahin though you're not as easy to handle (manja sgt) hihi. We will always be praying for you every second and every breath wherever you are.. Be a good and solehah girl, k..in shaa Allah. 

Last but not least, may you grow wisely, beautifully (esp on akhlak ;)) and successfully in this world and hereafter. We shall try our best to shower you with all the best, love and happiness and guide you to the right path..in shaa Allah. May Allah bless you always, my dear! Mmuahhh. :)

Little Miss Specky

Too much reading or too much watching iphone or genetic? All are the factors Izzahin has short-sighted like both Babah and ummi, i believe! 

We went to Asda Optician to book an appointment to see an optometrist on sunday, the day before Raya. Firstly, we need to fill on the form for Zahin;s detail as a patient and our detail as a parent. Since she was under 16 years old, she was entitled to get free consultation and frame. How generous, right? ;)

So we came back on wednesday, three days later to see the optometrist. When we were called in, our little miss clingy Iris also wanted to tag along so we took her in together with us to see Mr. Optometrist. Babah waited outside with adik Zafri. But luckily, this chatty girl can't stop talking so THAT made Along Zahin felt less nervous. Good job, Iris! Hehehe...

Along Zahin was cool and well-cooperated throughout the consultation. I'm so proud of her! :) And then, Mr. Optometrist confirmed that she was short-sighted with minimum power at 50-50 for both right and left eyes. After finished with a prescription, he asked us to choose a frame at kids section outside.

It took quite sometime for us to choose a frame for her. She already picked a shocking pink Disney Princess frame, but Babah said it's not kinda appropriate to wear at school.  So she tried on the plain black and thick frame, and again Babah disapproved it. This time he said she looks nerd! hahahaha...Then finally, we were left only with a red Cinderella frame and fortunately it seems the most suitable and looks best on her. So hope she would take a good care of it..:)

And here she is, Little Miss Specky now. So far sgt berhati-hati menjaga spek dia. hehehe...

Anyway, She looks matured, kan? Dah la rupa Babah, bila pakai spek laaaagi sebiji macam Babah. Like Father, like daughter! hehehehe...Babah kata dah nampak muka budak baik-baik..hehe. Ummi kata nampak educated.. ;) hehe..Mudah-mudahan amin..amin..! :D

Ps. Ummi only started wearing glasses when i was 11 years old while Babah 12/13 years old, Zahin. hehe..

Hello Summer!

Assalamualaikum.

I guess i can say that Summer has officially arrive here in London. Wee! ^^

The highest temperature today has reached 28degrees Celcius. Feeling hot and feeling just like in Malaysia! Hehe.

Alhamdulillah gotta see alot of sunshine and the best thing is dry clothes!! Garing ok! Tomorrow the temperature was predicted to be higher at 30degrees celsius! *happy*

Allergic

Assalamualaikum

Hi macam-macam penyakit datang bila time perubahan musim ni. Kesian Zahin, dah lah ada Athma, last week kene Tummy bug..then early of this week naik merah2 pulak satu badan.
Kesian dia tergaru-garu and kept saying, itchy, itchy. Kesian anak ummi. :(

Kitorang pening fikir mana datang plak all the rashes. Sebelum tue tak ada pon makan seafood. Rumah ni yg allergic to seafood cuma hubby. tp klu makan sikit ok je. Kalau overdose memang sampai bengkak2 mata..huhu.

So kitorang rasa Zahin ni makan ayam banyak sangat kot. Masa dia kecik dia ada eczyma, allergics to kuning telur. Pastu ayam pon stop kejap sebab ayam pon 'gatal' kan. Bila makin besar dia dah tak ada lagi eczyma tu yang tak kisah pantang.

So Seperti biasa kalau allergics kitorang just bagi makan Piriton, ubat selsema. So far it works for my hubby and kids. Lepas bagi hari isnin aritu sekejap hilang dan turun rashes tu. by night Zahin dah tak complain gatal lagi.

Alhamdulillah. Hari selasa dia dah pergi sekolah. Hopefully, anak-anak ummi semua sihat-sihat lepas ni. Amin! :)

Tummy Bugs

Assalamualaikum

Poor Zahin. She was down with Tummy Bugs since Thursday night. :(

She started vomitting at 1 o clock in the early of friday morning. Yup, all of us were in Lalaland when it happened. In fact, She threw up on me and Zafri. I wondered why because she was fine before that.

The next morning she kept vomitting and looked so sick. She claimed her tummy ached and rumbling so we decided to keep her at home. She was absent on friday. During breakfast she did not eat and drink much but she still vomitted again and again. We quickly called GP but unfortunately there was no more appointments available that day. Pffft!

Luckily there is a walk in centre nearby at Barking Hospital so hubby immediately drove us there after fetching Iris from nursery.

When we arrived at the centre, there were quite number of people already waiting. But the service was fast and in no time we were called in by a nurse. Then the nurse confirmed that she had Tummy Bugs or as well called as Stomach Bugs.

The nurse said it was contagious so she might got it from other people. At school maybe..since other than her, we all were fine. Unfortunately, there was no medicine given for Tummy Bugs. The natural treatment is the only way, so we just went home.

In the mean time, we just make sure that she eats and drinks though she did not feel like to. It is very important as to prevent her from dehydration.

After some reading, she needs to avoid dairy products and caffeinated drink. So no milk, no milo for her at this moment. The nurse also advised us to give her only toasts, not even a porridge. huhu.We had to force her to eat and drink.

It really was a battle because she refused everything! She was too afraid to eat due to many times vomit. Kesian ok. She just lying and sleeping on the couch and bed most of the time..it made me sad to see her in the condition. If she's healthy, she will not be like that.

But tonight she already want to eat rice and she ate alot! :) Alhamdulillah she can already walk as well. As per yesterday, she was really weak even to stand and walk. We had to carry her upstairs and downstairs.!

But now, she looks much better and no one else have the tummy bug symptoms. Hopefully no one will ever get down with this bad bug. Amin.

To Zahin, hang in there, dear. you're a very strong girl! Get well soon, love.

PS. Apparently, it was in today's online local paper where Tummy or Stomach Bugs outbreak all over England now. Scary!! Read here.

Tinseltown

Assalamualaikum.

Tinseltown is American Diner restaurant and it has Halal certificates. It has several branches in London and one of it is in Gants Hill. Just 20 minutes away from our place. The first time we tried this restaurant was the one at Bayswater with hubby's cousin, Abg. Nasri and Imran early last year. Then we really hoped to come again when ada rezeki. :)

So the second time we went there was to celebrate hubby's and Zahin's birthday in last September. Just the five of us, obviously. hehe. Since it's a delay story..so i can't remember much what name of the meals. :P But we had a blast. The meals were super yummilicious until kids can't get enough of it, especially their special milkshake drinks..berhantu hokey!! :D

Anyway, happy birthday 31st and 6th o you both Darlings!! Best wishes and prayers always..amin!! Ummi, Iris and Zafri always love you. Mmuaahhh! :)

NURSERY PORTFOLIO

Assalamualaikum

Actually i should update this long before. It's Zahin's nursery portfolio at RONEC. I really love ambience at RONEC, it was under UK government so the fee was zero. It is Montessori, the classes were bright with colours and have overloaded books, stationery as well as toys! The staffs are awesome, all warm and friendly. I still remember her class teacher, Tim and his assistant, Theresa came to visit us at home for the first time. They interviewed me about zahin's personality and watching her drawing and trying to communicate with her. She was well cooperated, surprisingly. hehe..And we had the good news straight away that Zahin was being accepted to RONEC. We were so thankful. 

In conclusion, Zahin loves RONEC, She always eager and looked forward to go next day and she was sad and cried if she missed it. She stayed and graduated there. She really had great and memorable moments there. She made friends and her best friend named Tamana. Tim said that she's doing great, her English improved tremendously in short time. We were so happy to hear from Tim and we looked forward every meeting with him for her progress. I can't get from Zahin because she's not kinda telling me. But the way Tim told us, she's actually doing/learning a lot of things. And luckily everything was recorded nicely in her portfolio. ^^ And we were quite impressed to see her activity and comment reviews from Tim and nursery assistants. :)

We think she did a great job! Well done, dear! Mmuuah..To RONEC staffs..Zahin hearts you and will always remember all of you. :)

LUNCH PACK

Assalamualaikum

Lately, Zahin prefers heavy meals for her lunch. May be because it is already cold so she tends to be hungry easily and need more than just a sandwich. :D So when I ask what she wants to have for her lunch, she will quickly answer rice! Hehe. 

Before this, I used a normal plastic container for her food but the food will be cold by lunch time. I can imagine she eats the cold meal, poor her. That's why she can't finish even a sandwich..kesian anak ummi.:(

So yesterday, i remember that i had bought the thermos container last year. Where is it? Well, I found them in the box on top the kitchen cabinet. I seldom use it! Why buying if not using it right? Deng. From now on, she gonna use it. ;)

Luckily, the lid can be opened and closed easily. So Zahin got no problem with it! And she's happy to bring the thermos to school. Ye la kot dia tak nak sbb besar, lain dpd org lain ke. dah la macam mangkuk tingkat kan. ;p

Alhamdulillah, i noticed that she almost finished everything that i prepared for her lunch yesterday (selalu sayur la yg tak habis :() compare if used the normal container. Sedaplah kan bukak2 container tu nasi dan lauk masih panas lg. ;)

Hmm kt rumah ni, sorang tekak org kampung nak makan nasi berlauk, yg lain tekak western and light eater..jadi kene prepare at least two kinds of food but not everyday la..tengok pada masa n mood ummi jg..hehehe

dalamnya tak yah la tunjuk, nasi berlauk biasa je..sayur kacang dgn sotong, dan ayam goreng :) Sebelah tu utk breakfast..cheesy n chicken tortilla wrap! :)

Zahin's Special Guest

As i promised in the previous post, today i will update about my eldest one, Zahin. ;)

Last week she had a special guest that was not a human. Hehe it's a cute bear named Kass, her class's bear! Each term, Kass will visit every children in RR class and stay with them during a weekend. ;)

Last friday, it's me who fetched her from school. Mrs. R told me about Kass and it's diary also comes along with him. I got excited because it's first time for me and i never heard about this kind of visit in Malaysia so i cannot wait to share about it in here. :)

So during that weekend, Kass had joined Zahin's activity such riding a bicycle, watching tv's, reading, etc. coincidently, the strawberry tree at our backyard had riped so Kass also had a chance to pick some strawberries
with her. Hehe very cute!

We took many pictures of her and Kass. Zahin also introduced Kass to her and Iris's beloved teddies named Rosie and Elisa. ;) it was our pleasure to have you Kass!! Zahin was glad to have you around and Iris was fond of you too. Hihi. Sometimes they did quarrel over you. :D

Anyway, we need to return Kass safely on monday. :( but before that, we need to put some photos and write Kass's experience as her teacher required in his diary. Yup on his behalf ;P.

Well, we did it very last minute on monday morning since we were quite busy that weekend, went to Canterbury on Saturday and had invitation to BBQ at friend's place. So Kass and Zahin arrived a lil bit late that day as we were running out the ink when Babah tried to print out the picture collage of them. But, we still made it anyway though the colour outcome was not that satisfying but nevermind hihi and it's Ummi who wrote Kass's experience in the diary! Yay! :)

Hopefully, Mrs. R and your friends enjoy it, Zahin!! :)

Ps. Mrs. R also informed me that Zahin's doing very well and had skipped 4 groups to be in the first top reading group. Meaning she can read almost everything now. Alhamdulillah! We're so proud of you Along Zahin! Keep it up k darling..;)

Athma Attack at School

Autumn's arriving so It's cold since the temperature starts dropping gradually day to day. The wind is strong too. We're starting to wear socks and sleep under the duvet during night. We cant let the window opens all nite along anymore.
Zahin has been coughed since last week but only yesterday she got into athma. Poor along zahin..
And today id got emergency call from her school but i cant take it as i was in the lecture. During the break, i called hubby since i cant reach the school helpdesk. Then i knew that hubby already fetched zahin. He said Her condition has worsened. Oh what a test..
Know what, when things like this happen, i wish i didnt further my study. But i know Allah has best plan for me so i just hope i could hang on all the challenge and still standing. InsyaAllah. Please pray for me and of coz my beloved doter as well.
