Some Breastfeeding Tips

Assalamualaikum

Here are some breastfeeding tips that i would like to share from my experience:

1. Set your goal and start with a good intention like to breastfeed your baby until two years old..as stated in the holy book, Al-Quran.

2. Be positive, be strong especially mentally. Never ever give up. Get fully support from your other half.

3. Read a lot about breastmilk and breastfeeding. Join Susuibu.com and Babycenter.co.uk website to get many tips and information.

4. Buy a good breastpump and do a lot of pumping and direct breastfeeding whenever your baby demands to produce more milk.

5. Try and error food until you find the milk booster. (Like me, rice, fish, dates, milk, milo, sayur sawi and tauge are the booster. ;))

6. Take booster supplements too. I used to take esp, alfalfa from Shaklee.

7. Wear nursing bra and tops for easy breastfeeding anytime and anywhere..

8. Get a nursing pillow and nursing cover. For me i only use my jacket or baby;s blanket to cover the aurah.

9. Pray to be istiqomah, be happy and tawakkal.

In shaa Allah hope it helps more or less. Good luck! :)

I really miss breastfeeding, i do! I could not forget the moment of nursing my baby any time and anywhere i go. So precious! And the most heavenly is I could also eat as much as I could without worrying about gaining weight and no need to get up from bed to make milk during night time. What a bliss! ;)

Since I've stopped breastfeeding six weeks ago, i've gained weight! Huwaa..me no likey! I had not gotten use with any diet/exercise while i was breastfeeding so i guess i better start doing it now. Huhu.

breastfeeding during boarding on a train from Salzburg to Prague in last April..
Once i stopped breastfeeding zafri, hubby had to put him on sleep at night during the first week. When he woke up in the middle of night and cried for milk, I reminded him that my B's 'bleeding' ( i put the red food colouring ;)) he quickly understood and just slept in my arms. It was so emotional seeing him at that time but i had to..:(

But now he sleeps through the night with me without tugging my shirt anymore, i guess he just and still wants to be close to me. Actually all my kids are still 'berebut' to sleep in my arms. Hehe We have a special bonding, me likey! Alhamdulillah..^^

Zafri's not actually a picky eater so it helps alot at the beginning..I just gave him any food and drinks or activities to distract him from breastfeeding. It worked! hehe. But lately, he ate less but play more..He's very very active hence he's getting slim now. huhu. But as long as he's happy and healthy..i'm not too worried.

My beautiful family.. killing time during 5 hours train journey :D
Anyway, with Allah's permission and like other mommies out there who are breastfeeding (We're in the same boat), I'm so greatful that all this while I have been given a strong-will and being steadfast to breastfeed all my children. Alhamdulillah..(Zahin until 2 years old and half, Iris until 1 year and 10 months old and Zafri's almost 2 years old and half). Though it's very challenging journey but it's the most beautiful and precious journey that I will treasure forever..Subhanallah..!

I would like to thank hubby for all his endless love and support too. Alhamdulillah. Thank you Sayang!! You're so wonderful husband and dad! We love you so much!! ;)

To Zahin, Iris and Zafri, ummi and babah love you very very much. :) And I've tried my best to give all of you the best milk which is breastmilk. It's not expensive, we saved alot though..Alhamdulillah..Hopefully, you will grow up healthily, wisely and beautifully. Also may Allay always protect, bless and guide all of you to the right path. Amin ya rabbal alamin..

Till then wassalam.

Ps. am truly sorry to Na, Farah and kak Nur as i had accidentally deleted your comments in the previous post. maklumlah jari i ni pon dah gemuk, nak tekan publish tp tertekan delete plok..hampeh sungguh!! Lol.

My Fasting Review

Today is 8th day of Ramadhan. So far I have been fully-fasting even though i breastfeed my baby plus the 18 hrs fasting duration and even had 2 times missed the sahur! MasyaAllah. Alhamdulillah.
Here, we break fast at 2041 and we must sahur before 0259. So we just have only about 6 hrs to eat, drink, and solat terawikh. And they can't be done peacefully! Hihi. But, we already get used to it. ;)
In the beginning, the spirit to cook was there but now it vanishes into thin air. Sigh. The only special menu so far was nasi lemak, sambal tumis crabstick, ikan bawal hitam sweet sour and pizza that we had yesterday. Still, it turned out to be so-so..sigh. Kinda sad..uh. But hubby is always being sweet by saying issokay, sedap ;P nway tq darling! Hihihi.
First time sahur, I had eaten rice but in smaller quantity than during breakfast. Afraid that my tummy can't stand to fast up to 18 hrs but once i made it without bersahur, I hadn't eaten rice. I joined hubby's who take lighter something like a bowl of cereal, couple toasts with milky drink and not forgotten, a plain water, a date and alfalfa to boost my BM! As i expected, it did wonder!! Alhamdulillah, mencurah2 n murah rezeki zafri. ;) Credit to hadha for alfalfa n my mom who has posted it last week. Tq!;)
So, 7 days down, 23 days to go! Hopefully, I could fully fast till the end of Ramadhan. InsyaAllah! May Allah make it easy for me, hubby no matter how challenging it is. Also, i wish i can khatam(finish) all the 30 juzuks of al-Quran in this holy month. Amin!
Lastly, happy fasting and tadarus to my Muslim friends too!:)

Baby Massage

Babies simply love to be touched. In fact, they thrive on it — it's a critical part of growth and development. All that skin-to-skin contact not only helps you and your baby bond, but is comforting when she's upset and soothing when she's irritable.

For a simple baby massage, find a warm, flat surface to lay your baby on — a blanket on a carpeted floor is fine. Pour a little baby oil or vegetable oil in your palms and rub your hands together to warm them and the oil. Look into your baby's eyes, and sing or talk to her as you do the massage.

Pay attention to your baby's response: If she doesn't seem to be enjoying herself, try a lighter or heavier touch, or simply stop. No need to know about special strokes, either. All she needs is your gentle touch.

Credit to babycenter.

Anyway I usually massage my baby after bath or change his diaper. I choose to use either telon or yu yu oil depending on his condition. But if his stomach got wind I straightly put yuyi oil around his stomach and his legs. Like iris, zafri also love to be massaged either by me or hubby. But I will make sure we took a small quantity of it and usually it works best on all my babies. No more cry!

Since yuyi oil is quite expensive and I have to import from Malaysia, I try to consume it wisely. Hence, it reminds me to put it in the wishlist as we are running out of it! Then will convey the wishlist to my mom via phone because mom is gonna post a ramadhan and syawal parcel.:)

BABY BOY BY CAESAREAN

Our third bundle of joy, Baby Zafri.

Alhamdulillah, i finally delivered our lil boy on last Tuesday, 12th of April at 9.53a.m by caesarean surgery. Baby was born with weight 3.33kg at Newham University Hospital, London.

Nway, Ummi and baby were doing fine even though we both had faced a blood pressure problem that lead to the emergency surgery. :)

I'll try to share my experience in more detail in my next post, insya Allah.

Wassalam.
