Missing UEL

Assalamualaikum

Out of the blue, I missed my student life..what does it mean? hehe..No, I'm not ready to further PhD yet, though many have supported me to do so especially my beloved other half. It's not for a glamour reason to get a Dr. title but it's more on seeking more knowledges and discovering new interesting things. Hmm it's not easy, but still I'm kinda interested but not for now. I will think deeply about it along the way. If God willing, then I will do it.

Anyway, I did enjoyed and treasured most of the time at UEL. UEL is so special to me because there is no discrimination issues at all. Muslims are most welcome to UEL, in fact there are many Muslim students and even the lecturers. Hence, we have priviledge like a special room for musolla. So no problem for me to pray as it provides a room for sisters. Also every friday, the friday prayer will be held by using three spacious lecture rooms, not one. Hubby had joined the friday prayer twice or more as well. According to him, it's the most convenient place and the best khutbah he has ever had here in London. Hehehe..

during induction week briefing

outside the library in between the briefing, during 10 minutes break

the UEL blue bag received by every new student after the registration

there are some goodies in the box, vouchers, mobile sim card etc (cant really remember it now :P)

i got these with free GBP5 food and drink voucher at one of UEL cafes. They also provide Halal food as well ;)

where i pray...

inside the musolla, there is ablution area

sinkis

the prayer area

miss carrying this too Lolz

I might update more on UEL especially when i miss it ;) Afterall,  there are still more pictures which i don't have time to share before. anyway,I don't know when will i come to visit you again, UEL. PhD perhaps? ;) Hehe. Only Allah knows best. :)

Hi Ishmizu, Wow! Very interesting post....and glad you enjoying life there...
Hey, maybe datang Canada do your Ph.D?

I have a young Malay lady friend....she left her 3 very young kids, younger than yours with her hubby, maid and mom and went abroad do her Masters, having achieved it with distinction few years back, today she almost finishing her thesis for a PhD.
And before long I have to address her as 'Doc".

And knowing her well, she sure went thru hell and high water....to see, hear her babies crying via computer, they sick, missing her...crying for her...
She crying too, but carried on....
I can just imagine what she has and experiencing as she aim for the stars.

Only a few weeks back I saw a young Chinese lady crying outside a mall, she sitting alone looking at her Iphone.

I thought ada boyfriend chabut, or whatever..and being a busybody enquired whether I can help?
She crying because her 3 year old baby girl crying for her, not feeling well, back in China.
She doing a University course Aerospace Engineering here.

There's lots of such experiences here as young people come from o/seas to aim for the stars sacrificing with hard work and tears.

Here's wishing you and family the very best of the new year.
Lee.
